How’s this for Christmas spirit?
A UPS man in Texas has been caught on film stealing an iPad Mini that was delivered by FedEx.
Al Alverson said he couldn’t believe what he saw when he checked out his home surveillance video footage.
FedEx had already emailed him at work saying that his package had been delivered right to his doorstep.
“It said it was delivered at 9:29 a.m.,” Al Alverson said, according to KHOU. “So I go up and I have a DVR with all the cameras on it to take a look.”
He checked out his video feed and saw that, sure enough, the iPad Mini had been dropped off right at 9:29 a.m.
He skipped ahead and saw a UPS man deliver a second package he had been expecting at 1:15 p.m. About two minutes later, the UPS guy came back.
“I said, ‘oh my god,’ it is the UPS guy,” Alverson said.
Yes, the UPS man stole a FedEx package right off of his porch. ‘Tis the season, indeed.
Alverson posted his video to YouTube where it now has over 4,500 views and has even drawn the following response from UPS in the comments:
We’re disappointed in the action of a temporary holiday helper who took a package from the doorstep of a customer. The temporary helper has been terminated. We are upset, as this does not represent our 400,000 UPsers who deliver more than 16 million packages every day with pride and integrity. We have resolved this situation with our customer, and they are satisfied. Thank you, Annee Millman, UPS Social Media
The employee was arrested by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Thursday, charged with theft.
