The star of the Texas State Fair went up in smoke this morning.
For some 60 years, the 52-foot high “Big Tex” welcomed visitors to the Dallas extravaganza with a big “Howdy, folks!” This morning his clothes, which were made of fabric, caught fire as firefighters rushed to the scene.
All that’s left are Big Tex’s hands and sleeves.
Local officials say the fire broke out due to an electrical issue.
